Costumes: Theatre

These costumes are all somewhat related to theatre. Some are my designs, some are adaptations of others' designs, and some are as close to others' designs as I was able to get.

(On going) Starlight Express: Female Caboose

This design is one I came up with after making my first Red Caboose costume. I have slowly started to make it, but the most that has happened is the main pieces cut out... in the wrong size. I am currently working (albeit slowly) on this costume. You can read the dress diary here.

2007 James and the Giant Peach

My designs used in the spring children's show at Winona State University April 10-14, 2007. This was my Senior Capstone project, so I designed costumes and makeup. These didn’t turn out quite as nice as Many Moons in my opinion, but I still like them. You can see the individual costumes here. Some of the costumes were shown in ACTF costume parade in January 2008, and I was award a Certificate of Merit for them. Production photos by PSannerud for Winona State University.

2006 Many Moons

My designs used in the spring children's show at Winona State University March 31-April 6, 2006. Hats and make up designed by Brandi Turvey. You can see the individual costumes here. Five of the costumes were shown at the ACTF costume parade in January 2007. Production photos by PSannerud for Winona State University.

2003 Starlight Express: Red Caboose

This is primarily based off of the Bochum production, since Caboose (or CB) was cut from all other permanent productions in 1990. The only thing I really changed was using a leotard instead of just a shirt, because a codpiece would have looked rather odd on me. I don’t have this costume any more other then the hat and possibly the chest and shoulder pieces. I was really glad with how this costume turned out, and I might remake it after I make my female version. I wore this costume to the opening performance of the US tour in Minneapolis, which you can see pictures of here.

2003 Cats: Electra

I wasn’t originally planning on making an Electra costume, but when Jen (a.k.a. Spazzy Kitty) was selling this unitard I just had to have it. The tail I have for this costume is actually the first one I ever made.

1998 Cats: Jemima

This was my very first costume I ever made, from Cats or anything else. I sold the costume in 2004 and didn’t think to take pictures of me in it before I sold it. The only pictures I have left are from the eBay sale and bad partial shots.

(Sketch) Cats: "Rumpleteazer"

This is a design I came up with once as my own version of the traditional character. I started to make the costume, but I fell out of the Cats fandom a bit and didn't get far on it.
